Top 10 Tuesday is a weekly meme, that was created
by The Broke and the Bookish .
I didn’t realize how long it had been since I participated
in a Top 10 Tuesday until I began typing up this post. I think it’s about time
I joined in again.
This week’s topic is:
Top 10 Books I’d Love
to See As Movies/TV Shows
1. Janet Evanovich’s
Stephanie Plum Series
Yes I know that this has already been made into a movie, but
I think that this would make for a hilarious television show, especially since
there are so many books in the series.
Ideal Cast: I'd keep the cast the same as the movie with Katherine Heigle as Stephanie Plum
2. Secrets of the Old
Ladies Club by Nan Tubre
A movie about a bunch of spunky older women. Think The
Golden Girls.
Ideal Cast: Susan Sarandon
3. Reconstructing Amelia
by Kimberly McCreight
A bit of Gossip Girl and a bit of Law and Order: SVU, this
would make for an interesting movie, especially with the dual perspectives.
Ideal Cast: Gwyneth Paltrow as Kate, Elle Fanning as Amelia
4. Wedding Night by
Sophie Kinsella
Wedding Night was a funny book, what with the hotel staff
trying to sabotage the newly weds honeymoon. This would make for a hilarious comedy.
Ideal Cast: Perhaps Emily Blunt as Fliss
5. The Selection by
Kiera Cass
I have only read this first book of the series, but I think
it would be a hit in theatres, especially amongst teenage girls. The dresses
alone would be worth watching for.
Ideal Cast: Shailene Woodley as America
6. The Luxe Series by Anna
Godbersen
A historical fiction series set in New York focusing on
socialites. Another one that would have incredible costumes.
Ideal Cast: Nina Dobrev as Penelope
7. On the Street Where
You Live by Mary Higgins Clark
One of my favourite books by this author. The final page
alone makes this a movie worthy book.
Ideal Cast: Ashley Judd
8. The Boleyn
Inheritance by Philippa Gregory
We already know about Anne Boleyn, but this would follow the
point of view of Jane Boleyn (sister in law to the beheaded) as Henry VIII
moves on to wives Anne of Cleves and Katherine Howard.
9. The Shack by Wm. Paul
Young
I think this would definitely make waves, especially
regarding his portrayal of Jesus, but it would make for a beautiful movie.
10.Amelia Bedelia by
Peggy Parish
This series was one of my childhood favourites. The antics
of Amelia Bedelia would make for a great
family movie.
Ideal Cast: Rose Byrne as Amelia
I know I didn't include my ideal cast picks for all of them but these were those who stood out the most in my mind.

Your choices were very interesting, especially the Mary Higgins Clark one. It's been a while since I read one of her books! These meme looks like so much fun. I think I'll start participating soon :)

DeleteI haven't read any of these but I'd really like to read Reconstructing Amelia.

Thanks for stopping by JJ. Hope you enjoy Reconstructing Amelia if you ever get to it.
DeleteAmelia Bedelia would make an awesome kid's tv show! I babysit my little cousins quite often, and I would love to watch that show with them!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by the The Local Muse
I agree! I think it could work in both cartoon or live action form. Even if it was a kids show I'd still watch it too. :)
DeleteI have the first two books in the Luxe series sitting on my bookshelf. I really do need to get around to reading them! Thanks for stopping by :)
ReplyDeletePatty @ Bookish Wanderlove
Thanks stopping by as well Patty. I hope to re-read the first book soon.
DeleteThe Selection would make an awesome movie! I haven't read the sequels of the first book, but I really liked The Selection, and I hope that it hits the big screens soon! Lovely list! I haven't heard of the other books you put here, but I'm sure they'll make it big as movies :)
ReplyDeleteJillian @ Jillian's Books
I hope its made into a movie soon too. I just downloaded the prequel to The Selection, its a novella which I think is centered around Maxon's mom and how she became queen. Looking forward to reading it. Thanks for stopping by Jillian!
DeleteThank you.
ReplyDeleteI second making Stephanie Plum a TV series. The movie just didn't work but a thirty minute sitcom would!
ReplyDeleteI agree. Or even an hour long show. Funny, I just re-watched the movie last night.
DeleteThanks for stopping by Lillian.
