Monthly Wrap-up: August 2016

Goodbye sticky, humid, unbearable August. Don't let the door hit you on the way out. I definitely live in the wrong province. The weather of my second home in Newfoundland is much more suitable for my likes, that is for sure.

I am so ready for fall to begin. No, not because pumpkin spice everything (yuck), but because of the cooler weather and the beautiful changes in colour. Crunching leaves, apple picking, the smokey smell in the air. Ah I can't wait.

Things are slowly looking up on my end and I am optimistic that it will continue that way. (Fingers crossed!).

Now onto the books..

  1. Autumn is a lovely time, my fav colours are Autumn colours and I wear them as well. I have heard of Tuck Everlasting but don't know a lot about it. I see it was your favourite. Hope your September reads are great.

  3. I am ready to say good-bye to this humid weather as well. I love the crisp air and the change in colors is always beautiful. Tuck Everlasting was a favorite book of mine growing up and was happy to see it as your favorite book of the month. I will have to stop by on the 15th to read your review. Have a fabulous September!

  4. I am in love with autumn! It is my favorite season, and not just because I was born in October...LOL. I love all the things you mentioned: the air, the scents, and apple picking is something I remember from when I lived up North.

Seeing your book The Hidden Staircase reminded me that I have that one, and two other of the first books in the series...for reread some day, I hope.

    Enjoy September.

  5. I love fall and I'll be happy to see the hot weather go. The only thing I'll miss are the longer days, but you can't have everything I guess. :) And I've never been to Newfoundland but I've heard it's beautiful there.

Glad August was a good reading month, but boo for slumps. Hopefully it's short lived. Some of those books look pretty good- Skeletons in the Attic, that one looks spooky!

Oh and I love the smell of burning leaves in the fall. Something about it...

  6. We've been having high 70's here but the wind is strong. I hope fall is pushing its way to us. I read Tuck Everlasting long ago. I may have taught that to a reading group. It was an interesting one.
