Sunday Wrap-up: July 9, 2017

Hello everyone,

I'm racing to get this posted before midnight, as I have another one already lined up to be published. I try to spread out my posts throughout the week. But because I've made some good reading progress lately and I'm reading two different books, I thought I'd do this Sunday wrap-up.

My Reading Progress:

I have completed 2 books since my last update.

The Girl Who Chased the Moon by Sarah Addison Allen

My Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟

I listened to this contemporary fiction in audio format via the Overdrive app. I enjoyed it and hope to read more from this author. 

The Day the Falls Stood Still by Cathy Marie Buchanan

My Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I really liked this historical fiction set in Niagara Falls. Not only was it a great history lesson on my own province, but it is set in a location I've been several times.

Sunday Wrap-up: June 4, 2017

Hello everyone,

Just a quick update today as I am quite tired. Charles is currently passed out on my arm (which is fall asleep itself) so I'm typing this post with one hand. Multitasking is definitely a huge part of parenthood, ha. Things are going well on my end though. I'm feeling good and keeping very busy. Thankfully I've been finding some time to read. Even sitting down and reading a couple of pages here and there is better than not reading at all. I especially like to have an eBook open on my Kindle for PC, during feedings. It seems that I've been doing most of my progress that way, which is fine because I have quite a few books downloaded in that app.

Problem with Blogger?
To those of you who use Blogger, have you noticed any trouble publishing and saving lately? I have been trying to update my pages, but my updates don't seem to save. Instead I keep getting a "Revert to Draft" option. I sent in feedback on this problem to Blogger, but have yet to hear back from them. Could it possibly be that the pages I am trying to update are at their maxim limit? If any of you could give me some advice on how to remedy this, I would greatly appreciate it.

My Reading Progress:

I completed The Littlest Cowboy this week. Thankfully it wasn't a long novel, as it wasn't really my cup of tea, but I hate not finishing a book that I've started so I read to the end. 

Currently Reading

Yes, I'm still plugging away at The Little Shadows. I'm determined to finish it this week though. 

This morning I began reading If You're Gone, a book that I was sent for review months ago, but haven't been able to get to until now.

Sunday Wrap-up: May 14, 2017

Is wishing all the Mommy's out there a very Happy Mother's Day! 

Every year on Mother's Day my family and I go out for a special brunch. So earlier this week I called the restaurant to reserve our table, the man asked me how many mothers will be in our party. I went to respond with "one", but had to do a double take and correct myself. There are two mommy's now! Baby Charles will be a month old on Wednesday and I still find it surreal that he is mine. 

My Reading Progress:

I finished reading No Safe Harbor (Edge of Freedom, #1) by Elizabeth Ludwig, earlier this week. I read the second book in this series a couple of years ago and enjoyed that book more than this one. Still it was a decent story and I gave it 3.5 stars. 

Currently Reading

I have been working on reading The Little Shadows by Marina Endicott, for a while now. Its a longer book and moving along slowly. 

The Littlest Cowboy (The Texas Brands #1) by Maggie Shayne has been on my Kindle for PC TBR for quite a while now. I was just in the mood for an easy contemporary and this one seems to fit that bill.

Sunday Wrap-up: March 5 2017

Today my Mom threw me a wonderful baby shower. She has been planning it for weeks and at all came together nicely. Lots of good friends and family attended. We played games and ate delicious food. I am so grateful for all those who attended and brought gifts for my little boy. He sure is blessed already.

Isn't that cool? She included some of my favourite books that I read growing up and of course a baby boy and his kitten too. She is so talented.

Instead of cards, we asked that guests bring a book to help start the baby's library. I will be making a Stacking the Shelves post to share all the wonderful books soon.

My Reading Progress:

Since my last Sunday Wrap-up I completed 2 books..

The friendship between the two characters in this book was beautiful and genuine. I gave Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet 4 stars and will be posting my review in the next couple of weeks.

A Vote for Murder was an interesting mystery that I gave 3 stars. My review for this one will also be posted in a couple of weeks. I listened to this book on audio via the Overdrive app.

Currently Reading

The past couple of days I have been really focusing on reading The Empress Holds the Key. Like I have said before it is quite long, but I am making good progress.

Sunday Wrap-up (On a Monday): February 20, 2017

Would like to wish everyone a very happy Family Day! And what a beautiful long weekend it was. The weather was almost spring like and the snow took a major hit. It was perfect for all the winter carnivals that were being held. I know we haven't seen the last of winter yet though as it is only late February.

I managed to be somewhat productive this weekend with my household chores, but I mostly just rested as friday's doctors appointments really wore me out.

About 8 more weeks left to go! Ahhh!

My Reading Progress:

Today I finally finished listening to the 4th Percy Jackson on audio via the Overdrive app.

Thankfully I was able to enjoy it a bit more, during the last half of the book. I gave it 3 stars and my review is scheduled for March 8.

Currently Reading

I'm slowly making progress with The Empress Holds the Key and I hope to complete Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet before the end of the month.

Sunday Wrap-up: February 12, 2017

Hello everyone,

Writing to you from a winter wonderland. The roads might not be in the greatest condition, but is it ever beautiful outside watching the snow fall. A lot of people are sick of this weather and can't wait for Spring, but it is my favourite season of all.

This weekend I bought the furniture for our nursery. I'm looking forward to getting that all set up. I have approximately 10 weeks left until my little boy is due.

My Reading Progress:

My reading progress is coming along slowly, but then again I'm not putting any pressure on myself. I find it is much more enjoyable that way. Don't you agree?

I finished reading A Race to Splendor about 2 weeks ago. I really enjoyed this book. Much more than I expected to actually. I just love when that happens. I gave it a 4/5 rating and my review will be posted soon.

Currently Reading

The Empress Holds the Key is quite a long book and I am reading it on Kindle or PC. However it is quite fast paced, so hopefully it won't take me too long to complete.

Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet has been on my TBR forever. I'm happy to be finally reading it.

I finally was able to get The Battle of the Labryinth back in audio format from my local library. Even though I'm not as into this book I still plan to plow through and finish.

Sunday Wrap-up: January 22, 2017

It's been a while since I last did a Sunday Wrap-up. I've been meaning to do one for the past couple of weeks, but we were having problems with our internet connection. I'm glad to be back online again.

What have I been up to? Doctors appointments and more doctors appointments. This past week has been especially busy, I was very thankful to be able to get some much needed sleep yesterday. We are all settled into our new apartment, but I'm not even half unpacked yet. Hopefully I can make a dent in the boxes this week. *Fingers crossed*.

I am now just over 27 weeks along in my pregnancy. Time is just flying by! I've been feeling great and looking forward to starting to set up my little guy's nursery.

My Reading Progress:

I am quite pleased with my reading progress lately. I've read more in the past several weeks than I have in months. It feels so good to be back on track.

I recently finished these two books:

• Skeletons in the Attic by Judy Penz Sheluk is a mystery novel. (Click the link to read my review)
• Highly Illogical Behavior by John Corey Whaley is a young adult contemporary. My review for this book will be posted this week. 

Currently Reading

• A Race to Splendor by Ciji Ware is a historical fiction set after the great San Francisco earthquake in 1906. I've had this one on my shelf for a long time now. Glad to finally be reading it. 
• The Battle of the Labyrinth (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, #4) by Rick Riordan. I'm listening to this on audio via my library's OverDrive app.

Sunday Wrap-up: December 18, 2016 & The Big Reveal!

Whew it has been a busy few weeks. We are mostly moved into our new apartment now, which is great. There is still a lot of unpacking to do, but I am slowly making progress. Unfortunately our internet still isn't hooked up yet, so I haven't been able to do any updates here on my blog. I'm currently visiting my parents so I thought I'd get a quick post together, while I check my emails.

I can't believe Christmas is just days away! Are you all ready? I haven't even started my Christmas shopping, to be honest and I couldn't tell ya where any of my decorations are. Just another thing I'm trying not to stress over, haha.

I've been feeling pretty good lately which is a blessing. Everything is going along well with my pregnancy and I am now just over 5 months along. I have to say that I'm loving my baby bump and I can feel the baby moving around more and more every day. What an amazing feeling!

The big news is that we were able to find out the gender of the baby!

It's a boy!! 

We are so excited and can't wait until April. 

Currently Reading

I finally finished The Girl in the Castle. Man it took me forever. Even though it is over 500 pages in length, it isn't an overly thick book. The story was interesting though and I decided on a 3.5 rating. I hope to get my review up soon. 

This completes my 2016 Goodreads Reading Challenge with 50 books read for the year. Even though I have slacked the last several months, I am still pretty proud of this accomplishment. Let's see how many more I can complete before the year is up.
